PARKING AND PACKET PICKUP

Plenty of parking is available on site at Steilacoom High School.  You can enter the High School on the North (student entrance), or East (main entrance) and look for signage directing you toward packet pickup in the high schools main foyer.

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

All courses are USATF Certified.  All events begin and end on the high school track.  Events utilize out-and-back courses on the gently rolling roads of Steilacoom and Lakewood.  Each mile will be clearly marked, and a volunteer will assist you at the turnaround point on the course.  We will also offer water and Gatorade approximately every 2-3 miles throughout the course.  All events feature a downhill finish onto the high school track.  Course maps, with elevation profile and water station locations are available HERE.

 

RACE DAY SCHEDULE

7:30 AM – Packet Pickup & Day of Race Registration Opens

8:45 AM – Registration and Packet Pickup Ends 

9:00 AM – Start of the Mile and Kilometer Races

 

FACILITIES

Our pre-and post-race facilities are some of the finest around.  We are able to utilize the foyer and cafeteria area of Steilacoom High School, as well as access to the indoor restrooms and locker rooms and showers.  After your race, you may enjoy an assortment of food and beverages.

 

RACE RESULTS

Official chip time and age group finish are available at our results kiosk in the building -courtesy of Peak Performance Timing.  Final results will be posted HERE after the conclusion of the event.

 

AWARDS

Age group ribbons will be awarded to top 3 in each age group.  These will be available at our results kiosk.  At the courtesy of some of our sponsors, overall awards will be provided to men’s and women’s winners in each race.  Overall awards will also be provided to first men’s and women’s masters finishers (age 40+) in each race.  Per USATF rules, overall and masters winners will not be bumped from their age divisions.

 

SERIES COMPETITION

Runners may enter either the mile or kilometer series.  In order to qualify for an award, a runner must finish at least 3 races in the series.  Only the 3 best finishes count and the low score wins, with 1st place in an age group receiving 1 point, 2nd place receiving 2 points, 3rd place receiving 3 points, etc.  The 3 runners in each age group with the lowest total points will receive an award.  If you sign up for the mile series but compete in a kilometer run, then that race will not count for the series.  Runners must sign up by the first race in order to compete in the series and runners signing up for individual races do not qualify for the series.

 

ADVERSE WEATHER

This is a winter race series, and we are frequently confronted with cold, rain, wind and snow.  In the rare event that inclement weather forces a cancellation or postponement of the event, participants will receive an email by 7:00 AM.  We will also make every effort to update our website.

 

REGISTRATION DETAILS

Please note that there are no refunds, transfers, or roll-overs allowed.  For everyone's safety, pets are not allowed on the courses.  A photographer will be on site and pictures will be posted HERE after the conclusion of the event
